Ese ‘ll be rehabilitated, returned to school – Delta Govt

The Delta State government yesterday promised to assist in the rehabilitation process for the 14 year old Ese Oruru and ensure her quick return to school after the delivery of her child. Ese, an indigene of Delta State, was allegedly abducted and taken from Yenagoa to Kano where she was converted to Islam and married by her abductor, Yunusa Dahiru Popularly known Yellow. However when the minor was rescued and returned to Yenagoa she was five months pregnant. The delegation of the Delta State government led by the state Commissioner for Information, Mr. Patrick Ukah, during a visit to Ese Oruru and meeting with her parent in the presence of the State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Peter Ogunyanwo, reportedly reiterated the preparedness of the Delta State government to join the Bayelsa State government to ensure the minor return to school and continue her life. Ukah, according to a source, said they were happy that the young girl was doing well since returning to Bayelsa State from Kano. The commissioner expressed the gratitude of the state government to all who played a role in the return of Ese to Yenagoa, adding that the law should take its full course against the man who allegedly abducted her to Kano state.
