Senator Amori, Commissioner Onogba Impacts Mosogar Community, Distributes Palliatives Worth Millions of Naira.

Chairman of Delta State Capital Development Agency, DTSCDA, Senator (Chief) Ighoyota Amori, his political son and Honourable Commissioner for Environment, Hon Chris Onogba, have again displayed their undying love for the good people of Mosogar Community in Ethiope West, by distributing food items worth several millions of Naira, to cushion the effects of the stay at home order.

Accompanied by some leaders of Mosogar community, Amori and Onogba presented the items in trucks to credible leaders in the community for distribution to the various towns and villages captured within Mosogar landscape, with firm instructions that sharing of items must be devoid of political considerations, free from bias and not on paddy-paddy basis. Amori said the corona virus does not recognise the social or economic status of anybody and that hunger is no respecter of persons; which is why the distribution of foodstuffs and other items must get to the people as a matter of urgency, adding that he will censor the distribution to ensure that vulnerable members of the community are the major beneficiaries of the palliatives. The astute political leader and one of the founding members of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Delta State; commended the visionary leadership of the governor, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, for taking proactive and result oriented steps to curtail, prevent and combat the spread of Covid-19 in the state.

He noted that the governor, being a top ranking medical professional did the needful by constituting Covid-19 team; for the purpose of taming the monster virus that ravaged some countries especially China, Italy, United States of America, et al and still troubling the world Amori noted that the low rate of Covid-19 cases in Delta is attributed to the inestimable love of God for the state and the numerous positive efforts of the governor and government, and urged Deltans to be prayerful, law abiding and adhere strictly to preventive measures which include; regular washing of hands with running water, frequent use of sanitizers and face masks. "As responsible citizens we must continue to partner with the state government and our amiable governor, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, to save or impact the lives of our people through direct involvement in whatever programme government is prosecuting or executing. "You are to report symptoms of Covid-19; frequent coughing, sneezing and difficulty in breathing, to the nearest Isolation and Intensive Care centres located at Government Hospital, Oghara and other Covid-19 facilities across the three senatorial districts. "Covid-19 happens to be a critical problem in the health sector and government genuine efforts to combat the killer virus prompted the governor to issue executive stay at home order. This order is to prevent the spread of the virus in Delta State. "What the Honourable Commissioner of Environment, Chris Onogba and I did was to assist our people with some food items to cushion the effects of the stay at home order. We are aware that a large number of our people depend largely on daily income and the lockdown affected their small scale businesses. "I have directed those saddled with the responsibility of distributing the food items to ensure that vulnerable members of Mosogar community especially unemployed people, artisans and other unskilled labourers benefited from the palliatives. "Sharing of items must be transparent without political colouration because hunger neither discriminate against members of political parties nor respecter of persons which is why I emphasized on transparency, good conscience and equity in the distribution chain," Amori added.
