A Social Political and non partisan organization named DELTA PEOPLE FORUM (DPF) Releases Aims and objectives and modalities of becoming a member. DELTA PEOPLE FORUM (DPF) AIMS AND OBJECTIVES 1. To strengthen and bring together under one umbrella all Delta State indigenes irrespective of their political, ethnicity or religious affiliations. 2. To act as a Forum for the Delta State indigenes to network and share their expertise and knowledge. 3. To promote the interest of the Forum and its members by facilitating cordial relations between members, and Government bodies with responsibilities for and regulating the educational sector and other sectors for the development of the state. 4. To observe, highlight, address, inform, educate and proffer legislative and administrative measures that may either directly or indirectly affect the interest of the Forum and its members. 5. To help Delta State indigenes on appropriate training programs for their respective field or areas of expertise. 6. Foster National and International Forums / Assemblies / Associations sharing the same ideal, aims and objectives of ours. 7. Organize opportunities for information dissemination through conferences, seminars, webinars, workshops and exhibitions. 8. To advise on ways and methods of improving the standards of education and provide career guidance and motivation to the Delta State indigenes. 9. To assist the Delta State indigenes in their chosen trades and professions by providing career opportunities with a view to making them productive members of the society. 10. To provide or secure the provision of social services and educational facilities, and practical assistance for the Delta State indigenes at all levels. 11. To provide or secure the provision of welfare rights advice and information and refer those in need of professional assistance to the relevant agencies. 12.To provide, maintain and equip, or assist in the provision, maintenance and equipment of, premises and facilities designed to carry out the objects of the Forum. 13.To do all such other lawful things as may be necessary for the attainment of the above objectives or any of them. *MEMBERSHIP* Membership is open to every “DELTA STATE INDIGENES” that has attained the Nigerian Constitutional requirement age (18 years) and is interested in assisting the Forum to achieve its aims and objectives in compliance with the provisions of the Constitution. All members shall be responsible to pay such membership fees and Quarterly / Annual Dues as may be determine from time to time by the Executive Council of the Forum. Notwithstanding the fulfilment of the above conditions by any individual who has attained the age limit stated above, the Trustees of the FORUM shall reserve the right to admit or reject any application for membership of the FORUM where in the opinion of the Trustees, such potential member is not worthy in character and integrity. *HONORARY MEMBER* Honorary Membership shall be extended to the “Delta State Indigenes” who lives outside the State that can produce evidence of Nigerian Citizen from their various Local Government. The members in this category shall be individuals who are interested in assisting the Forum to achieve its aims and objectives in compliance with the provisions of this Constitution. These members 1. Shall be recommended by the Executive Council after due diligence on the personality of such persons. 2. Shall not have the right to vote or hold any office in the FORUM while outside the State. 3. May serve on different committees (as ordinary member) if requested to do so by the Executive Council. *MEMBERSHIP OBLIGATIONS (RIGHTS / DUTIES)* 1. All members are bound by the provisions of Our Constitution and all amendments, additions or alterations thereto, and shall abide by the final decisions of the FORUM notwithstanding their individual opinions. 2. All members shall pay the dues and levies determined from time to time by the FORUM in a General Meeting. For a Start we are to pay #200 (Two Hundred Naira) per month as monthly Dues. 3. Any member who fails to pay the dues within the stipulated time (Financial Year) shall be subject to a penalty to be determined by the Executive Council. In addition, such defaulting member shall not have any voting right at any Meeting and shall not be eligible to hold any office whatsoever. 4. Any member who fails to pay his/her dues (if any at all) for three (3) consecutive Financial Years as may be prescribed by this constitution stands automatically suspended of his/her Membership from the FORUM until payment of all outstanding dues and penalties are made. THE STATE EXECUTIVE COUNCIL MEMBERS 1. The President General; 2. The Vice President; 3. Delta Central District Coordinator and Secretary; 4. Delta South District Coordinator and Secretary; 5. Delta North District Coordinator and Secretary; 6. The Secretary General; 7. The Assistant Secretary General; 8. The Treasurer; 9. The Financial Secretary; 10. The Publicity / Media Officer; 11. The Provost/ Chief Whip; 12. The Women Leader; 13. The Directors of Welfare/ Social (Male and Female); 14. The Internal Auditor; 15. The Legal Adviser; 16. The Ex- Official (The Immediate Past President); 17.
