The Executive Secretary, Delta State Micro Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency Chief Shimite Bello has reviewed that the chieftaincy title conferred on her will motivate her for greater services to humanity and as well spur her into making more investments to the promotion of her culture, tradition and heritage and called on the people to harmonise efforts towards the promotion of traditional institutions.

The Executive Secretary made the disclosure yesterday (22-4-19) in Ebu Kingdom while addressing journalists shortly after her grandeur conferment of a chieftaincy title by the Paramount ruler of Ebu Kingdom.

Lady Shimite Bello is among the few distinguished persons conferred chieftaincy titles yesterday (22-4-19) when the Ruler of Ebu Kingdom in Oshimili north LGA of Delta State; His Royal Majesty Onu Paul Odilile marked his one year coronation anniversary.

Lady Shimite Bello was conferred "Akpeli Ugo Fufu 1 of Ebu Kingdom (the first white eagle) amidst cheers and jubilation across the kingdom especially by the recipient's numerous admirers and some beneficiaries of her numerous humane services and development strides in the Kingdom and country at large.

Senator Peter Nwaoboshi of Delta north senatorial district and Senator elect and top government functionaries amongst other distinguished personalities from all walks of life gathered in the kingdom in honour of the " White Eagle".

Her immediate community rolled out drums to celebrate with her as well.

The women folks who sees her as an ambassador were not left out in the most colourful event of such magnitude.

In the course of the chart with journalists, Chief Shimite further said she was overwhelmed by the gesture for being singled out of many and nominated for the particular title, stressing that the decision her kingdom was an obvious testament to the fact that good things can hardly be concealed.

Expressing special appreciation to her monarch and the kingdom for the recognition, the Executive Secretary disclosed that she would work hard to ensure that her kingdom makes more progress.

While asking for God's grace to achieve her desires for the advancement of the society and the human race, she opined that she's fully aware that the new position requires greater sacrifices and added that she would be more committed to the community's good.

She appreciated most Distinguished Senator Peter Nwaoboshi Delta north senator elect and other friends and political associates for honouring the remarkable day in her life.

Niger Delta Records 40million Litres Oil Spill Annually – Gov Dickson................... With a proper sensitization campaign the menace will be eradicated-Queen Sandra Onyeka(Mayorkings Agency Brand Ambassador)

Bayelsa State Governor, Hon. Henry Seriake Dickson disclosed on Wednesday that the Niger Delta region is recording not less than 40 million litres oil spill annually compared with 4 million litres annually being recorded in the United States.

The spill, according to a survey could have killed around 16,000 infants within their first month of life.



Governor Dickson who gave the statistics at the formal inauguration of Bayelsa State Oil and Environmental Commission at the DSP Alamieyeseigha Banquet Hall, Yenagoa said the State has suffered vast environmental and human damage in spite of her contribution to the socio economic growth of the country.

He added that the State accounts for forty percent of Nigeria’s oil wealth, and hosts the operations of all the major multinational oil companies.

According to him, oil companies operating in the state have for decades acted with impunity and with little regard for the environment and people, causing multiple oil spills and leading to environmental degradation and loss of human life.

On the danger posed by the oil spill, the Governor while citing the 2011 United Nations Environment Programme report, disclosed that life expectancy in the Niger Delta is around 10 years lower than that of the national average.

He posited further that oil spills in the Niger Delta can lead to as much as a 60 percent reduction in household food security, reduce the ascorbic acid content of vegetables by as much as 36 percent, and can decrease the crude protein content by up to 40 percent.

Governor Dickson while expressing concern over the development said the newly inaugurated Commission will as part of its statutory functions, investigate the environmental and human damage caused by operations of oil companies as a result of oil spills and analyse legislations governing the operations of multinational oil companies in Bayelsa State and in Nigeria.

The Commission will develop a set of recommendations that would lead to the development of a new legal framework that ensures accountability.

In addition, the primary aim of setting up the Commission, according to the Governor is for oil companies to agree to a global standard of behaviour, conducting their operations in Bayelsa as they would in Norway, Scotland or the USA.

It will be recalled that Governor Dickson has been championing campaign for habitable environment.

In 2018, he organized a rally against environmental damage caused by oil companies in Niger Delta where he noted that the world has looked on for too long without taking necessary collective action to put a stop to the damage being done by oil companies in Bayelsa.

In his address, the Chairman of the Commission, The Most Rev. Rt Hon. Dr John Sentamu, Archbishop of York said the Commission would investigate the human and environmental impact of multinational oil companies’ activities as it is crucial to the prosperous future of the people of Bayelsa and their environment.

Political Communication Strategist (PCS) and Executive Assistant to the Governor of Delta State on Communications, Dr (Barrister) Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe, has said that the very essence of the Youth Agriculture and Skills Training Entrepreneurship Programmes (YAGEP and STEP) of Gov Okowa administration is to continually raise thousands of young millionaires in fulfilment of his (H.E. Okowa) prosperity for all Deltans mantra.

Oghenesivbe, made the assertion on Monday 3rd December, while receiving the 2018 Entrepreneurship Advocacy and Youth Empowerment Special Award in his Asaba office; presented by the organizers of Face Of Entrepreneurship Nigeria Reality Contest And The Nigerian MSMEs & Achievers Awards 2018, held last Friday 30th November, at BON Hotel (formerly Protea Hotel), Warri.

Gov Okowa's EA Communications further disclosed that since the commencement of the YAGEP and STEP programmes, over 6,000 youths and Women in the state have benefited through various specialised vocational and skills training supported by starter packs and strategic funding via the State Small and Medium enterprises Loans Scheme specifically put in place by this administration for that purpose.

"The sole objective of YAGEP and STEP socioeconomic programmes of this administration is to radically and progressively deemphasize the crave and or yearning for white-colour jobs that are rarely available to engage thousands of our young graduates produced in various institutions of higher learning in the state and around the country.

"The programmes have yielded tremendous results to the extent that the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Tony Elumelu Foundation (TEC), the World Bank (WB) and several other local and international donor agencies have thrown their  weights behind the YAGEP and STEP programmes due largely to the huge success so far recorded; and by extension the transparency rooted in the selection of participants across the three senatorial districts of Delta North, Central and South.

"Gov Okowa's vision is to give us a new Delta where prosperity is genuinely guaranteed through technical education, skills acquisition and vocational training so that our young graduates and women becomes employers of labour and joyful bread winners for their families; and by so doing contributing towards the growth of the state and national economy.

"It is therefore the duty of our youth to mobilize extensively for the re-election of Gov Okowa in 2019, so as to sustain the ongoing human capital and infrastructure development in the state," Oghenesivbe said.

Winner of the 2018 Face Of Entrepreneurship Nigeria, Miss Sandra Oyenka a Native of Ika South LGA of Delta State, while presenting the Award to Latimore Oghenesivbe, said she will partner with the state government especially the Office Of the Chief Job Creation Officer, to further sensitize youth on the numerous advantages of participating in the YAGEP and STEP programmes of Gov Okowa administration.

She noted that the award recipient (Oghenesivbe) has done well in Entrepreneurship advocacy and Youth empowerment, without necessarily blowing his trumpet on rooftop in line with biblical injunction which States that "do not let your left hand know what your right hand has given so as to guarantee your effectual rewards in heaven."

Oyenka humorously added that the dreaded skills of Gov Okowa's EA COmmunications does not reflect in his interpersonal relationship with people, a clear indication of his uncommon humility and respect for others outside the conventional political engagements via the mass media.

He further more noted that if he is being elected a member representing the constituency at state house of assembly Asaba, that he will not forget the reason of him being voted for by the electorate and that he will surely deliver.

 The house of assembly PDP candidate further more, congratulated the smart governor,sen.Dr. ifeanyi okowa "ekwueme" (the talk and do) governor on the asaba international airport that started working yesterday 15/11/2018. Describing the airport as a great achievement that any other state governor would want to emulate.

Still speaking, he noted that foreign investors do not need to fly to other state before coming to delta state for business, he also lamented on how the airport will provide job opportunities  for the unemployed in  delta state.
